Wedding season is around the corner when its hot and sunny in Metro Vancouver.  I’m guessing most couples or parents have done their research and homework on wedding receptions by now.  I will be reviewing a wedding reception at Sea Harbour Seafood Restaurant.

Sea Harbour Restaurant is considered one of the superior Chinese restaurants in Metro Vancouver.  Sun Sui Wah, Kirin, and Shang Garden will be grouped in the same class as Sea Harbour.  Sea Harbour is a popular chain from mainland China.  Don’t be misled by the exterior facade. The interior decor is grand.

The minimum charge to book the whole restaurant is $11000.  Sea Harbour can accommodate eighteen tables roughly one hundred and eighty people.   Eighteen tables is the optimal.  That will leave enough walking path between all the tables.  Sea Harbour is perfect size for a smaller intimate wedding reception.

Good old Vancouver Chinatown. Chinatown has been on the decline for years but the City of Vancouver has been reviving and restoring through the Chinatown Revitalization Program. Chinatown is nested in the Strathcona area and right next to downtown. You can really see a big change with all the downtown condos and GM place built right next to Chinatown. One will notice newer condo buildings along Union, Georgia and Pender in Chinatown. There are historical buildings restored along Pender. Chinatown is more vibrant with a balance of the old and new. Also, I notice more local ethnic groups are shopping in Chinatown and even Bean Around The World Coffees has opened on the corner of Gore and Union. Chinatown still has the freshest and cheapest produce, meats, and Asian products in Metro Vancouver.

The Boss is a Chinese bakery in the front and restaurant in the back of the store. All the baked goods are baked on the second floor. They have a small elevator transferring the down. They have a big selection of pastries that are quite delicious.

Expired :(

The McDonald’s on Robson and Denman downtown is having a pretty awesome special, but it’s only until June 6th:
Big Macs are 99 cents, and cones are only 69 cents!

If you combine that with the $1 drinks all summer long, you get:
99c Big Mac
$1 Large Drink
69c Ice Cream Cone
= $2.82 after tax!

Pretty sweet deal if you ask me!
