Food Week at Lifehacker

One of my favourite websites to follow is lifehacker.com (lh for short). They have an endless flurry of new posts that cover everything, ranging from boosting your router signal with foil to creating a handy iPhone stand out of a paper clip.
In addition to tech related news and DIY’s, they also cover food from time to time. However, this week is Food Week at lifehacker! Head over to their Food Week page to check out some of the stories, such as making your own ginger ale, or finding the 5 healthiest foods at McDonalds.

Parkside’s new face: L’Altro Buca

I recently read in the paper that the owners of La Buca and Parkside have opened up a new restaurant: L’Altro Buca.
La Buca is one of my favourite restaurants. It’s a small place with a friendly staff and really amazing food that is reasonably priced (for a ‘fine dining’ restaurant).
I’ve also heard many great things about Parkside, and always wanted to go try them out.. unfortunately, it looks like I waited too long.
Back in March, the owners opened a new restaurant in place of Parkside at the same location, which will be an extension of La Buca (Italian for ‘The Hole’) called L’Altro Buca (’The Other Hole’).
I can’t wait to try them out and will post a review asap.
May 29, 2009 | Jeremy | Comments 1New Product: Purdy’s Premium Ice Cream

I found it surprising that Purdy’s is offering a new Purdy’s Premium Ice Cream product. Then again Purdy’s already sells chocolate ice cream bars at Purdy’s stores.
Purdy’s is partnering with Island Farms to create the first ever line of Purdy’s Premium Ice Cream. The product will be available at select fine supermarkets and grocery stores in BC. The ice cream will come in the following flavors: Hedgehog, Sweet Georgia Browns, Mint Meltie, Peanut Butter and Milk Chocolate. The 473 ml tubs of ice cream are available at: Overwaitea Save On Foods, IGA Marketplace, Thrifty’s Foods, Choices, T&T Supermarket as well as Fairway Market, Country Grocer and Quality Foods on Vancouver Island.
I will be definitely trying this new product from Purdy’s in the near future. I will write a review on this product once I get my hands on it.
