The McDonalds on 57th and Knight has a sweet promo on right now where you can get a Cheeseburger for 69c!
The offer will expire on December 13th, and it’s valid each day from 5AM to 12AM.

Starting on December 14th, their new promo will be Happy Meals for only $1.99, and that will expire on December 20th.

This cheap cheeseburger deal reminds me of when they used to be on sale for 39c.. those were the days.. the heart-stopping days..

“The Burger” at Cactus Club in Vancouver - Rob Feenie style

Cactus Club on Broadway

When Rob Feenie decided to join Cactus Club as the new “Food Concept Architect”, I was definitely a little skeptical. First of all, it sounds like they just pulled that title out of thin air, and secondly, this happened right after the fairly abrupt shut down of his restaurants, Lumiere and Feenie’s after a dispute with his partners.

Cactus Club was never at the top of my list for casual dining. The most attractive thing about the restaurant was the auto-toilet seat covering that they had in the washrooms — and when the washrooms are the coolest thing in your restaurant, you know you have issues.

Long Table Series at Irish Heather in Gastown, Vancouver

This was my first time joining 604 Foodtography, Food and Tell, Foodie Adventures in Vancouver, I’m Only Here for the FoodMy Secret Eden, Sherman’s Food Adventures, and Yum-O-Rama food bloggers for a meal at the Irish Heather’s Long Table Series for dinner.  It was fun and exciting to meet a new group of bloggers that share a common interest.

Irish Heather

Tonight’s Long Table Series was sponsored by Steam Whistle Brewing. They were promoting Steam Whistle Pilsner - a golden, refreshing brew with a distinctive hop aroma, tasty malt flavour, and a clean, crisp finish.

Cafe Gloucester in Vancouver

Cafe Gloucester

After visiting a friend in the hospital, we decided to grab a quick bite nearby. We decided on Cafe Gloucester; this would be my first time, but everyone else seemed to rave about it.

Upon entering Cafe Gloucester, it definitely looks and feels like a more ‘upscale’ HK Cafe, kinda of like Bauhinia, but not quite as clean.

Cafe Gloucester Menu

The menus at Gloucester look like they’ve been around the block a few times, but my mom always told me that it’s whats on the inside that counts! This rings true for Gloucester as well, as they have a fairly extensive menu with all the items you would usually expect to see at a HK Cafe, and more. Although touted to be on the more expensive side of HK Cafes, I found the they are quire reasonably priced. They might be slightly more expensive than places like Alleluia, but it’s still very reasonable.

Capstone Tea & Fondue in Downtown Vancouver

Capstone

Capstone is located in the heart of downtown Vancouver on Robson Street.  I have passed by many times driving through the area, but never noticed it until a friend mentioned that they serve AYCE fondue a few years ago.  Ever since then I associated AYCE fondue with Capstone.

Capstone's interior

The place had a trendy decor and an upbeat atmosphere. Its not a romantic place, but a nice place for a few friends to hang out and chit chat because the place is small and cozy.
