Harvey’s at Home Depot in Richmond
Even though Harvey’s is no longer giving out Gift Burger coupons, they still make a great spot for lunch when you’re craving a burger a little more substantial than a McDonald’s hamburger.
The only Harvey’s that is reasonably accessible in Richmond is the one attached to the Home Depot near Ikea located at Bridgeport and Sweden Way. The other one is in Vancouver, but I wouldn’t really go all the way there just for a burger.
Inside, Harvey’s is just a small counter with a few small tables set up. Despite their meager store front, they still make awesome, fresh burgers!

Timothy’s Frozen Yogurt in Richmond (Steveston)
After trying Qoola Yogurt + Fruit, I had to try go back and try Timothy’s frozen yogurt again. I’ve had it before, but I couldn’t remember how the yogurt tasted. It had been such a long time since my last visit, I wanted to make sure my memory serves me correctly before writing this post.
Timothy’s has been selling yogurt in Steveston since 1989. They have a long history in the community and the people love their yogurt. You can tell from the constant line up outside their store.
They don’t serve the fruits on top of the frozen yogurt. Instead, they blended fruit into the frozen yogurt. The staff places a block of frozen yogurt and a cup of fruits into a blender to mix and then dispenses it into a cup or waffle. I enjoyed having my frozen yogurt in a fresh waffle cone. The waffle cones are always made fresh and sometimes the waffle cones are still served warm!
August 3, 2009 | Danny | Comments 4Deep Fried Chicken Wings from Wo Fung Dessert at Aberdeen in Richmond
After my last visit to Aberdeen, Kim gently reminded me how silly it was to go there and not get an order of Deep Fried Chicken Wings from Wo Fung!
Danny and I decided to go back to Aberdeen for lunch, and this time, I wouldn’t make the same mistake. I headed straight to Wo Fung Dessert to grab their (in)famous Deep Fried Chicken Wings. There are a few things that confuse me about Wo Fung. First of all, they’re called ‘Wo Fung Dessert’, but they really sell dessert, and they’re really known for fried chicken. Secondly, I’m not sure what it is about their chicken wings that make them taste so darn good; all I know is that when you’re craving a snack at Aberdeen, Wo Fung always hits the spot.
July 29, 2009 | Jeremy | Comments 3Mambo Cafe at Aberdeen in Richmond
After a morning at the Richmond Go Kart Tracks, a big group of us decided to have lunch at Aberdeen food court. This was my second trip to this food court. Some of my friends decided to order at Mambo Cafe because they eaten there before and said it was good, so I followed their recommendation. Mambo was like a Hong Kong cafe in a food court. There was a decent sized line up ordering food, and they’re located right next to the popular Leung Kee.
July 28, 2009 | Danny | Comments 0The Love Cup (Fishbowl) at Pearl Castle
Pearl Castle is the best Bubble Tea place in Richmond. They offer a wide range of drinks including different milk teas, green teas, seasonal fruit juices, frappes, and house specials’ such as “Young Girl’s Dream” which consists of grenadine, yogurt, orange and cream. They also have a large food menu with all of the dishes you’d expect to see at a Taiwanese bubble tea place such as chicken nuggets, beef noodle soup, and meat sauce on rice.
What makes Pearl Castle the best is that they have awesome, consistent quality. Their bubble teas’ taste great, their pearls have that perfect bouncy texture, not to mention the food is also very good. Great flavours make the food a primary reason to visit; the dishes aren’t just snacks you’d have in addition to your bubble tea.
