Summer BBQ Series: Butter chicken sausage
Granville Island was the destination of my photo walk. I walked past a sausage vendor while taking photos inside the market. Then I remember watching a food show by Discovery interviewing Vij’s. Vij’s is a husband and wife restaurant owned by Vikram and Meeru. I vividly remember Vikram introduced a butter chicken sausage made by Oyama Sausage.
Oyama Sausage Company is a small family run business providing sausages and cheese. The staff is friendly and welcoming. You can pretty much sample anything cooked. My favorite is the prosciutto. Prosciutto can get pretty pricey at Oyama. You might be able to finder it cheaper from an Italian store on Commerial Dr. Most items are fractionally more expensive than the supermarkets.

I will be starting a summer bbq series introducing different foods to grill. Summer is finally here and I can’t wait to bring the bbq out. I like to bbq with charcoals because of the taste and I’m old school. It takes a bit more time to bbq with charcoals but its all worth it! I have been using the Weber One-Touch Silver 18.5 Charcoal Grill for my bbqs and I just love it. I had mine for 10 years and its still like brand new. They are built to last. Weber make excellent bbqs.

Review: Roasted Pig from Kam Wah Meat in Vancouver
A roasted pig is generally for special occasions. The wedding engagement was the special occasion on this day. Roasted pig is made by roasting the entire pig with seasoning in a charcoal furnace at high temperature. Roasted pigs have crisp skin and juicy and tender meat. This roasted pig is from Kam Wah Meat in Vancouver Chinatown. The quality of roast pig are comparable from the meat stores in Vancouver Chinatown. We particular choose Kam Wah because we are a repeat customer, good quality, they gave us a special price and we didn’t have to put a deposit for the red tray. The red tray is a red wooden serving tray. The roasted pig was 27 lbs and cost $150.
