Leung Kee at Aberdeen in Richmond

Leung Kee

This was my first time eating at the Aberdeen food court. What made this food court unique was layout; you see the food stalls before the seating area. The seating area was very pleasant. They took advantage of the natural lighting with the ceiling to floor giant windows.

I walked around the food area looking for a restaurant. I wouldn’t help noticing that there was a line up at Leung Kee. Most stalls had one or two customers, but Leung Kee had eight or more. By far, Leung Kee was the busiest. I lined up at Leung Kee checking out their menu.  They even had a LCD TV displaying orders ready for pick up.

Leung Kee's steam rice with spareribs in black bean sauce combo

I ordered the steam rice with spareribs in black bean sauce and cold Hong Kong milk tea. The dish also came with Chinese sausage, and veggies.  Usually, this is a classic Cantonese dish is served at dim sum.  The spareribs were tender and flavored decently.  I think I like the spareribs at a dim sum restaurant better.  The portion was pretty big with lots of spareribs and rice.  My value lunch was $7.09 including the cold drink.

I must say I am disappointed. You were in Aberdeen Food Count and did not order any of the fried goodies from Wo Fung Dessert??? :P

This was my first time having lunch at Aberdeen’s food court. I was confused by all the choices… lol! I will definitely try your suggestion on my next visit.

We also didn’t get the Fried Chicken.. that stuff is awesomely greasy!

[...] After a morning at the Richmond Go Kart Tracks, a big group of us decided to have lunch at Aberdeen food court. This was my second trip to this food court. Some of my friends decided to order at Mambo Cafe because they eaten there before and said it was good, soli I followed their recommendation. Mambo was like a Hong Kong cafe in a food court. There was a decent sized line up ordering food, and they’re located right next to the popular Leung Kee. [...]

Leung Kee has always been one of my favorites. I have tried several of their dishes. The taste and quality have always been consistently good.
