After having lunch at the Aberdeen Mall food court, I was craving something sweet. It was time to see if Qoola is worth all the recent hype. Qoola makes healthy and fresh frozen yogurt from 100% natural ingredients. They are an eco-friendly company with initiatives to reduce waste by offering biodegradable, compost-able and recyclable products.
Qoola offers a trendy, vibrant and refreshing decor which matches pretty well with their slogan - “Pure Heart + Pure Body”. This location has been open for less than two months so everything is shiny and new. Thumbs up to the establishment!
Here is my Qoola frozen yogurt being prepared.
Jeremy had the green tea frozen yogurt topped with strawberries and graham crackers. I had the lychee frozen yogurt with blueberries and almond flakes. We both agreed the yogurt was good - smooth, creamy, tangy and slightly sweet. Jeremy thought his didn’t have much green tea flavour even though it was supposed to have been made with real matcha. The fruit toppings were fresh and tasty and we have to concur that this is definitely a healthy treat.
Our small sized yogurts (two toppings) came to $5 each with Qoola’s grand opening pricing. Normally these would cost $3.95 + 89 cents per topping. Ouch.
Five Loaves Rating:
Value: 6/10
Quality: 7/10
Overall: 6.5/10
Verdict: Qoola’s yogurt and fruit is okay, but way overpriced!
