We dropped by the Greek Summer Fest on a Sunday evening at 7pm. It was pretty busy because it was dinner time. The food taste very homey Greek cooking and the food stand are not individually owned. The food stand is divided into stations depending on what food you ordered.
Here is the menu at the Greek Summer Fest. The prices have gone up since last year. The prices are average and doesn’t seem to deter people from coming because its very busy.
What is a Greek meal without lamb? Vernon’s lamb dinner came with Greek salad and rice. He mentioned that the lamb was tender, juicy, and seasoned well but he has better else where. I tried a small piece of lamb and I agree.
I tried the Spanakopita. Surprisingly, the Spanakopita was good. The spinach and feta was warm and moist. The phyllo was very crisp and flaky. It was interesting that the Spanakopita came with tzatziki sauce.
I ordered loukoumades for dessert. Kinda looks like timbits but they’re not. Loukoumades are a Greek pastry made of deep fried dough lightly soaked in sugar syrup and sprinkled with sesame. This is my first time trying this dessert. I was surprised that the center of the dessert was quite light and not heavy. I liked the loukoumades.
