So today we had planned to take the long way home from work on our bikes. The ‘long’ way home is about 50km, all around the edge of Richmond on River road. We took a few shortcuts, so it really only ended up being about 40km, but it was still a good workout.
Since our route passed by Steveston, we thought we’d pay Pajo’s a visit for some Fish and Chips. I hadn’t been to Pajo’s in a while since they usually close by sundown, but I remember them to be exactly what they’re remembered as: a local favourite.

We arrived at about 7:30, there was no line up, but there were plenty of people sitting at the benches and tables enjoying the cool evening and some Fish and Chips.
Since we were also going to go to the Dairy Queen by Teranova later, I decided to get a small halibut Fish and Chips. Phil decided to get the large cod Fish and Chips, but regretted it later because we still have a few more kms to bike.
Now Pajo’s isn’t exactly the cheapest place, with a small halibut Fish and Chips running you $8.99 (without a drink), and a large halibut Fish and Chips costing a whopping $12.79. Fortunately for Pajo’s, they are pretty good, so it’s worth it if you’re spending a nice sunny day down in Steveston.

Although Phil said that he prefers Dave’s Fish & Chips, Pajo’s has always hit the spot for me. The halibut was fresh, and very tasty. The fries were also fresh and taste really good with the seasoning that they have by the condiments.

The only drawback to my dining experience at Pajo’s was that my very first bit of halibut had a bone in it. I somewhat decided to overlook this because it’s never happened to me before at Pajos.
Overall, Pajo’s is one of those places that you just have to try if you’re in Richmond and love some good Fish and Chips.
Five Loaves Rating:
Value: 6/10
Quality: 8/10
Overall: 7/10
Verdict: Pajo’s is a local favourite that hardly ever seems to disappoint.
